About Kate W Art

Kate W Art is the studio of a California artist working in alcohol ink and line. Flowers and eyes emerge from the spinning alcohol and ink, in colors reflected within the iris; when eyes are soothed, the heart is soothed.

The work moves between two poles: flowing ink, which blooms the way flowers open, and the quiet discipline of line, drawn one stroke at a time. Living in California, close to the sea, the pieces gather tides, desert light and the small impressions of everyday life — a doorway in the afternoon sun, a garden after rain.
